On a beautiful day at camp, all the campers got their first taste of competitive play with their new teammates. After an active warmup, the campers learned about having a big practice and what constitutes a pick call. After warming up, campers worked on bow tie cutting before employing it in the scrimmages. All the teams were looking good and with another full day of practice before the tournament, it’s safe to say the medal is up for grabs.
After lunch campers returned to the fields to learn about defensive positioning and breaking the mark. With these two skills all the campers playing improved drastically. You could certainly tell how hard everyone had been working to improve in the afternoon scrimmages. Many great defensive plays were made due to better positioning and campers used their break throws to better utilize the whole width of the field.
Despite having tough days ahead, the campers held nothing back in the Campers vs. Counselors game, giving the Counselors the best game they had all summer. The campers managed to put up 5 points to the counselors 28, using patient, grinding offense that never seemed to quit. It’s safe to say if the campers play the way they did tonight, we’re in for some awesome Ultimate come tournament time.
Upon returning to the dorms, everyone was treated to a delicious ice cream sundae bar, which they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy.
Everyone’s in bed now, surely pumped for another day of Ultimate and Pink Tuesday.
