The weather was not as cooperative today as it has been the past few weeks and the morning session was cold and wet. Fortunately, lots of running and hard work kept the campers warm and the spirit was high as campers wouldn’t let the uncontrollable weather influence their first time playing with their tournament teams. Counselors led another mental toughness exercise and a rules session before warming up and going through some warm-up throwing drills. The campers then learned about how to run an effective vertical stack on offense before playing some sopping scrimmages and team sprints.
The rain stopped right before the afternoon session, which started a little later in order to give campers time to dry off and warm up. Campers worked on improving their hucks an d each player was given individual feedback from one of the counselors. Afterwards, the camp split into two groups and rotated between a defensive positioning drill and a ‘breaking the mark’ drill, before finishing the session off with more scrimmaging.
The evening ended with a hard-fought camper vs. counselor game. Afterwards, everyone had ice cream to celebrate.
