GUTS College Brochure

Welcome to the newest project from the Global Ultimate Training School! We are collating information from ultimate programs/teams in order to let high school players know what their options are for playing in college. We started with a hard copy booklet in 2003 and have now putting together a digital brochure that will benefit everyone.

The GUTS College Brochure is a resource for any high school player that is interested in playing ultimate in college. Our brochure includes information from various college programs around the country. Players will have access to each program’s contact information, their values and goals during the season, commitment level and level of support from the school. High school players and families can use the brochure to explore and compare different college ultimate programs all in one spot.

Men's Club Ultimate Frisbee Team consists of a competition-oriented A team and a developmental B team that love to play and teach ultimate frisbee. We aim to foster a loving and supportive community that shares a passion for the sport. We hold practices, workouts and compete in tournaments against other top collegiate teams across the US. Our A-team specifically competes at the D-I club level with the goal of qualifying for the National Collegiate Championships. Check out our namesake, Mr. Yuk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLsONa3gKIQ

Playing on our A team usually means a weekly commitment of 2-3 practices as well as a team workout to sharpen ourselves for strong competition. Plenty of players lift weights, practice throwing, and get in extra workouts outside of practice hours as well- if you want to improve rapidly, training your skills outside of practice is important. We typically attend 2-3 tournaments in the fall, then 3 regular season tournaments in the spring before the postseason series begins. In general, our program requires a strong commitment but still allows for a balanced college experience as long as players manage their time well.

Our team is very well-supported by the Carnegie Mellon administration. We receive an annual organizational budget that covers most of our team expenses every year, and we are given frequent access to the two large turf fields at the school to allow us to practice in all kinds of conditions. Our school has a club sports representative who is responsive to our program's needs and is available for productive, open conversation around sharing resources if we need additional support from the school (such as a cycling studio to help us work out during the winter months).

Attending Carnegie Mellon University will be a balance between rigorous academics and whatever extracurricular pursuits interest you the most. Mr. Yuk provides structure, positivity, competitiveness, and a bit of a goofy vibe to your time outside of class, and by the time you graduate you'll be wishing you had more years left with this unforgettable team. Carnegie Mellon University will prepare you for "life"- you'll have access to plenty of academic resources, project-based courses to help you grow, internships if you work hard, and great job prospects upon graduation. Mr. Yuk Ultimate will prepare you for LIFE- building a support network to help you during tough times, managing and relieving stress, chasing a goal with a team you trust, and making decisions that will set you up for future success. Come join our squad!

Years in Existence: at least 15 / a lot of years

Zenith is Colorado College’s gender inclusive ultimate frisbee team that strives for competitive excellence on the field and is committed to creating an inclusive community that values growth, accountability, social justice, and zest. Our goal this year is to be highly competitive at DIII Nationals. Check out our team values here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/165fe_noszZ8dXnsHT51Q9itHKDcKRxuwWOAZIx5p_po/edit?usp=sharing

As of January 2024, Zenith has split into two programs. The more competitive program practices 3 times a week for 2 hours, has 2 mandatory lifts, and 1 mandatory condition session per week. The less intense team has 2 mandatory practices and optional lifts/conditioning. Due to the class schedule at Colorado College (the Block Plan) all players have time off during monthly finals/block break. During the fall, Zenith attends two tournaments. In the spring the more competitive program attends about one tournament a month while the less intense team has about one every other month.

Typically, Zenith receives funding for 80% of all team costs for 2 in-region tournaments per year from Colorado College - often with additional support when club sports has any money left in the budget. In generally, players can expect to pay around $350-450 over the course of the year to play on the more competitive team (inclusive of jerseys and USAU membership). Less competitive team players should expect to play markably less. Pay is also determined by which tournaments you attend rather than simple which team you are rostered on.

Zenith is strongly dedicated to cost not being a barrier to play!! The team fundraises throughout the year and has draws on internal mutual aid to cover costs for any player who requests it.

Zenith is a program that is dedicate to developing a well rounded supportive team first and foremost. Players on this team will be asked to push themselves as both athletes and teammates in order to grow as a player and support the goals of the team. (We also are known for fun outfits, lots of music, and frequently dancing as part of warmups).

The recent switch to a two team format is in part due to the fact Zenith does not make cuts. Since access to high school ultimate is highly variable we are dedicated to teaching anyone who wants to learn how to play. Additionally, as a program that recognizes are players are first people, then students, and then athletes the two team structure gives more players the ability to choose how much of their time they are able to fully dedicate to ultimate within a busy college life.

In 2023, Zenith made the choice to move down to DIII from DI where we had been competing for a number of years (usually at a regional level). This move was sparked by the exciting growth in the DIII women's division nation wide. After our 2023 nationals appearance the team is HYPED to fight for another shot this year!

Lastly, Zenith works closely with the men’s division program: Wasabi Ultimate. The two programs have worked intentionally to create a larger ultimate frisbee community at Colorado College and frequently support one an other from the sidelines or on our instagram stories.

Wasabi is a close-knit community open to all genders and backgrounds that strives to use ultimate frisbee as a conduit for personal growth both on and off the field. We strive to foster an inclusive and supportive community for both our teammates and everyone we interact with, and take pride in upholding integrity, respect, and equity in all spaces we occupy. We will embody the spirit of the game while competitively performing at the highest level possible. We are proud to be a part of this team, and are responsible for holding each other to the core values of Wasabi.

We have two practices a week in the fall (off season) and three in the spring. We generally attend two or three tournaments a semester. These do not include sectionals, regionals, and nationals that happen late in the spring semester. Outside of practice we expect players to take care of their bodies and stay active throughout the year. When we are out of school we expect people to make an effort to workout, throw, play pickup, etc whenever possible.

Colorado College club sports is very supportive of our team. While a majority of the teams financing comes from fundraising, CC helps the team out significantly with finances and other logistical needs.

Wasabi is a super fun community to be a part of! While we value on-field success, frisbee is only a small part of what it means to be on Wasabi. We do lots of fun social events, and you can definitely count on having friends everywhere you look.

CSU's Hells Belles is a team dedicated to offering women and non-binary students a sense of community, fostering competitive spirit, and practicing good sportsmanship. We have competed in the College National Championships three years in a row and have been recognized for our positive energy on and off the field. Ultimate Frisbee is a unique and exciting sport that welcomes athletes of all levels. As a team, we work to strengthen the capabilities of experienced players, while also developing new skills for beginners.

Our program is split into two seasons: the developmental fall season along with our competitive spring season. In both seasons, we practice 3 times a week, with a higher level of commitment and attendance required for rostered players only during the spring season. Along with that, we have pod groups to foster both additional conditioning and team bonding. In the fall, we travel to 1 tournament. In the spring, rostered players will get the opportunity to travel to 3-4 tournaments, with an additional tournament in Colorado.

The university provides our team with practice field space and access to an athletic trainer. CSU's Sports Club program contributes some funding. We organize multiple fundraisers throughout the year to keep costs low. Also, we volunteer within our local community, providing additional funding and team bonding opportunities. Funding from the university, fundraising, and donations comprise about 2/3 of our budget, while the rest is covered through player dues. We will work with those concerned about dues, as we would never want the cost to stop people from joining our team.

We encourage all skill levels to join! Our no-cut fall season is a perfect opportunity for all levels to develop their skills into becoming a player that can be rostered in the spring and compete in high-level college tournaments.

We are the first women's ultimate program to be part of a university athletics department! This is a fully-funded sport with athletic scholarships for student-athletes. Our team culture is centered around inclusion, support, and growth. We are creating an environment where anyone can come to improve at this sport and feel supported as they push themselves to grow on and off the field. As a first-year program, we believe that this is how we will build a solid foundation for a competitive and sustainable program.

We ask for a 100% commitment from our student-athletes. We practice three times a week and lift with a dedicated strength and conditioning coach twice a week. The school provides an academic advisor to make sure that class schedules are planned around practice times, ensuring the whole team is available to learn and grow together. In the fall we will travel to two tournaments and in the spring we will travel at least once a month from January - April before competing in the series.

We are fully supported by our school. The athletic department covers travel, hotels, uniforms, and equipment. The school also pays for a full-time coaching staff that is dedicated to our athlete's academic success and growth as an ultimate player. In addition to all of that, we have thousands of dollars per student in athletic scholarships to help offset the cost of tuition!

At Davenport University, we are setting the benchmark for excellence in Ultimate Frisbee teams nationwide. Our program operates under the same standards as every varsity program on campus, reflecting our commitment to professionalism and distinction.

A cornerstone of our program is the provision of substantial athletic scholarships, enabling us to make higher education more accessible and to draw top-tier talent from four countries and three national teams.

Our overarching goal is to elevate the profile of Ultimate Frisbee, ensuring that our athletes receive the recognition and appreciation they deserve for their dedication. We aim to not only reward the efforts of Ultimate players leading up to university, but also to create an environment where enjoyment and fulfillment are paramount.

Our training regimen consists of three sessions per week, alternating between sessions in the film room, weight room, and on-field practice. Our team benefits from the guidance of a dedicated strength trainer, with whom we engage in bi-weekly lifting sessions.

Beyond scheduled practices, players are expected to avail themselves to our team Athletic Trainer for injury management, consultations, ice baths, or other physical therapy needs.

All of our games are meticulously recorded and made available online for comprehensive review. Players are required to analyze their performances as they are tagged in the game footage.

Throughout the year, we participate in a total of four tournaments during the Fall season and six to seven tournaments in the Spring. The team covers all expenses associated with travel, including meals, and tournament bid fees.

We are proud to inform you that our team is fully funded and supported by the University.

Here are some of the perks we offer:

+Elite level players: We are actively recruiting athletes from around the world, representing 5 different countries. Our team consists of a mix of graduate-level athletes with 4 years of collegiate experience, transfer students, and many who have competed in YCC.

+Strength trainers: Our team works out together 2-3 times per week, depending on whether we are in or out of season.

+Laundry service: We provide laundry service for our players, ensuring that this task is taken care of.

+Athletic trainers: Some of our players receive daily attention from our athletic trainers, who provide general care such as ice baths and cupping, as well as targeted treatments for injuries.

+Dedicated coaches: Our team is supported by both full-time and part-time coaches, all of whom bring extensive experience to their roles.

+Academic support: We have an academic advisor dedicated to the team, ensuring that classes do not interfere with practice schedules. Additionally, we offer academic sessions to help our athletes stay on track academically.

+Fully promoted one-off games: We organize and promote special games, complete with announcers, live streams, inclusion in the University schedule, and full staff support.

+Gear: As an Adidas-sponsored school, our players are fully outfitted from head to toe with gear including cleats, backpacks, jerseys, underlayers, hats, and more.

+Covered athletic expenses: We cover all athletic expenses for our players, including meals during travel, hotel accommodations (with two people per room), bid fees, and more.

As a committed cohort of athletes, we benefit from an extensive network of support provided by the University. Our aspiration is to serve as a model for other institutions, inspiring them to emulate our approach and uphold a standard of unwavering support for athletes across the board. We’re Georgetown’s women’s frisbee team - the Huckin’ Foyas (A Team) and Biddin’ Foyas (B Team) - and we’re a motivated, dedicated, fun-loving group of women-matching players who are committed to each other, our community, and the spirit of the game! We’re here to have a good time and play great, competitive frisbee with our friends.

We practice for two hours, three times a week, and ask players to do one weekly pod workout outside of practice. Generally we go to 3-4 tournaments in the spring (plus conferences and regionals), and one in the fall. In the fall, we also host a hat tournament called Book Dive, which is a fundraiser for us, and a book drive for Books to Prisoners. In the off-season, we try to get players involved with club teams and their local frisbee communities to keep up their skills and engage with the broader sport.

Our team is pretty well supported by the administration, and financial accessibility is a huge priority for us. Tournament bid fees, hotel rooms, and rental cars are all paid for by the school, and while we do have team dues, and ask players to pay uniform costs, if they would be a barrier to anyone's participation, we have a robust team financial aid fund.

Our coaching staff is phenomenal - they’re incredibly dedicated to the sport and the team, and have given their all to help us rebuild the program after the pandemic. In addition to individual film study, goal-setting, and personalized workout plans, all three of them make an effort to be available whenever we’re struggling with something either on or off the field. The DC area is also a great place to play frisbee. There’s a wonderful community in the city - apart from our friends at the other colleges in the DMV, a lot of Foyas play club in the summer time, and we host a hat tournament in the fall which is a great chance to meet people in the area.

We aim to provide a welcoming environment for all who are interested in the sport of ultimate. Our A team provides a competitive outlet for those who are looking to excel at the highest level of the game. We also have a B team, the HoosierDaddy!s, for those newer to the sport who want to improve their individual skills.

We compete in both the Fall and Spring, attending high level sanctioned tournaments such as Carolina Kickoff, Queen City Tune Up, Mardi Gras, and Huck Finn. We consistently attend Regionals, having made the game-to-go to Nationals 2 out of the last 4 years.

The team is supported by a one of a kind alumni network led by the Indiana Men’s Ultimate Foundation (IMUF). IMUF is a registered non-profit organization made up of former HoosierMama?s spanning every generation of the club who support the team professionally, financially, and strategically. IMUF sponsors a number of activities each year such as an annual mentorship program, virtual strategy sessions, and an annual on campus alumni weekend. IMUF also spearheads an annual donation campaign which has raised over $40,000 in support of the team to date. Total School Enrollment: 2500 undergraduate, 700 graduate

Hello we are the Messiah Falcons! We compete in USAU Division 3 in the West Penn Conference and Ohio Valley Region. We have previously been known as Fire & Brimstone and Mammoth Rebellion but became the Falcons in 2016 after the school took the team into the athletic umbrella of the school. Above all else, we value the team being a place to foster friendships and have fun spending time with teammates. We consistently have annual goals to win the conference championship which we have accomplished on numerous occasions and we always have a stretch goal of qualifying for the DIII national championships. We have played in four games to go to nationals in program history but have unfortunately lost all four. We exceeded expectations in 2024 by playing in the regional final and the subsequent 2nd place game and we are hungry to get back to games to go to nationals in 2025. There has been a dedicated coaching staff for over a decade and a lot of time and effort from the coaches are put into the players' development.

We have official organized practices twice a week for two hours each. Players are generally expected to attend as many practices as possible and to contact captains should they be missing a practice. Optional but encouraged practices and pickup happen during the week and on non-tournament weekends throughout the season. We have team leadership organize skill development, workouts, and pickup outside of practice so that all players have organized opportunities for growth every day. It is expected for the A team that players do work on skills and gym work outside of practice and we do have ways for players to log their time spent doing things outside of practice.

We try to have four tournaments in the fall and three regular season spring tournaments before the series. Depending on numbers, we will have at least one X/Y tournament and then will ideally split into A and B teams at the end of the fall. If we have a B team we will have at least one B team tournament in the spring in addition to the normal regular season tournaments. We always go to FCS DIII Tune Up in North Carolina in the spring to play against other elite DIII competition. We then supplement with other tournaments on the east coast.

The school gives us a fairly large budget each season that covers things like bid fees and hotels. Players are financially responsible for their USAU memberships in the spring, meals on tournament weekends, and a portion of hotel fees. For uniforms, players are responsible for paying for jerseys and shorts but we get a 40% discount on a large catalog of Under Armour products so players can get basically anything they could think of with the team logo on it for a very reasonable price thanks to the discount.

We do get guaranteed use of official school field space for practice. A vast majority of practices are held on the school's lacrosse turf which is very high quality and has enough space for two ultimate fields. Occasionally weather will force us onto either smaller grass fields or the field hockey turf. We also get access to the school's athletic trainers who work with the NCAA athletes.

We are entering a window of time where we can be very competitive not only in our region but potentially on the national stage. We are fresh off losing two tough games to go to nationals and the returners are all itching to get back. We are a very young team who won't be losing too many players over the next couple of years and we feel this is a great opportunity for young ultimate players to get involved with our program.

If anyone has any specific questions, feel free to DM us on social media or you may email the team or the head coach at jmrallo@gmail.com.

Just a couple of muppets who like to ball out on the frisbee field. Daisy Chain Ultimate strives to foster a positive and supportive environment for people to develop as frisbee players as well as to serve as a caring community for all its members. Daisy Chain welcomes players of all experience levels to join our inclusive community that celebrates growth, teamwork, and silly goofiness. As a nationally ranked team in the D-III Women's Division, recently coming in 5th place at 2022 College Nationals and 7th place at 2023 College Nationals, we empower all of our players to strive for the highest level of play and bring joy, intensity, and spirit to all competitions.

For Daisy Chain, the fall semester season is focused on recruiting new players, building our skills, getting to know each other as a team, and attending scrimmages and local unsanctioned tournaments. During the spring semester, we expect a high level of commitment from our players with 2-3 two-hour practices per week and approximately 5-6 total two-day tournaments. Players are also expected to attend weekly team meetings, team lifts, team-bonding events, and contribute to the team's fundraising efforts.

As a recognized club sport, Daisy Chain is well supported by the Mount Holyoke school administration with easy access to student involvement staff and a designated budget to cover coaching and most tournament expenses. The team uses fundraising to supplement our designated club sport budget.

The Pioneer Valley area of Western Massachusetts where Mount Holyoke is situated has an incredibly strong ultimate scene and Mount Holyoke Daisy Chain competes in the most competitive D-III women's region: New England. We strongly urge prospective students who are dually seeking to pursue a competitive collegiate career in ultimate and a rigorous liberal arts college education to consider coming to Mount Holyoke College.

The Valkyries strive to embody everything our name implies. In Norse mythology Valkyries they are the “choosers of the fallen” and decide who lives and who dies in conflict. They are often seen as symbols of strength, bravery and fairness, all of which guide the Valks at Northeastern. We prioritize working hard on and off the field for the betterment of the team. We value being good teammates and friends — the Valkyries are truly a family that will always support its members. We have a strong alumni base because of this strong connection. The Valks come together to play frisbee, but for every member of our roster become more than just a team.

The Valkyries have both an A and B team, so there is a level of commitment for everyone! Our A team is nationally competitive and travels to 2-3 tournaments in the regular season every year (plus sectionals, regionals and ideally nationals). The A team practices 3 times a week and requires 3 workouts outside of that (cardio, lift, throwing). The team is decided through a tryout process. B team competes regionally (driving instead of flying tournaments) and is more flexible in terms of commitment. The B team competes in the New England developmental post season. The team typically practice 2 (maybe 3) times a week but is overall more flexible. B team focuses on player development and learning the sport for those new to it.

We do receive field times and funding from Northeastern, but it is sometimes limited. Players are responsible for many costs during the season (especially on A team) but the team is always willing to help out financially. There are also a lot of fundraising opportunities throughout the season to help with costs.

If you are interested in visiting a practice or two, please let us know. We would love to have you :)

The Northeastern Huskies play in the men's division and are a competitive team that strives to reach college Nationals every year. It's a team that takes itself seriously both on and off the field, and values character being a good person first. We have taken steps in recent years to make sure that all members of the program feel included socially and that we are good representatives for the school. We also know how to have a fun time, and purposefully plan fun social events that everyone can enjoy.

The Huskies require a high level of commitment if you make the A team. In both the fall and spring semesters, we practice multiple times a week. In the spring semester, we also do at least 1-2 lifts and 1-2 track workouts per week. We typically attend three regular season tournaments in addition to the postseason tournaments, all of which we typically fly to.

Our school receives regular practice times from our school, although they are not always preferable times - some are late at night or early in the morning, while some are more regular practice times. Financially, the school provides us with some money, but the program is also expected to help fund raise to support costs such as tournament fees, rental cars, and hotels. Players usually pay for their own flights, although the program does its best to provide financial support when needed.

Members of our coaching staff include Dan Hourigan (Head Coach - has won a YCC Title as the head coach of BUDA, and a Club National Championship as the head coach of Brute Squad), Angela Zhu (has won multiple club championships with Brute Squad, multiple team USA gold medals, a college national championship with Dartmouth), Tim Bobrowski (NUTC Assistant Director), and Dan Goldstein (former Pittsburgh Temper and Boston DiG player). You are always more than welcome to reach out to either one of the coaches or the captains. We often allow prospective students to attend a practice to watch and see the level of play. Come say hi!

Some Vortex players come in with high school and YCC experience while many have never thrown a frisbee before but bring their skills from soccer, volleyball, track etc to the field. Vortex is more than a competitive ultimate team, we’re a support system, a community, and according to a player's grandma “a gift”!

Vortex practices as a team 3 times a week and lifts twice a week outside of practice. Vortexers are involved in many activities across campus, but our team is a priority for all of us and we give 100% at practices and tournaments. We typically aim to attend two tournaments in the fall/winter, three tournaments during the spring season, with confro-regionals acting as our fourth, and if we qualify for it, nationals being our fifth. We also plan many optional social events, including a scavenger hunt, fall and spring break trips, ice skating, Just Dance, and film nights!

St. Olaf’s Office of Student Activities (OSA) has an annual budget allocated to student-led organizations. Classified as a competitive club sport, Vortex has consistently received significant levels of financial support from the school. Through matriculating “points” in Presence, our event and financials website, we are allocated a percentage of the available funds. Vortex has an exemplary history of maintaining a well-respected relationship with St. Olaf and the faculty of OSA. Vortex also holds multiple fundraisers throughout the season to help ease the financial burden that can come from being a part of such a competitive team, including cooking and delivering pancakes all over campus! Additionally, Vortex does accept donations from player’s families, however it is never expected nor required for a player’s family to donate.

Players are charged annual season dues, which are calculated based on a player’s level of attendance to the tournaments of that particular season. Dues aim to make up the money that is spent on bid fees, coaching salaries, hotel reservations, and gas and rental cars for travel.

Despite the support from St. Olaf, it is worth mentioning that frisbee is an expensive sport without complete school funding. Our current system for additional support consists of a private form where players disclose how much they can realistically cover for the year. While this does offer support, the St. Olaf Advisory Board is working to put in place a formal scholarship system through St. Olaf College and the hope is that this will alleviate some of the financial stress associated with participation in a club sport.

Vortex is a place for both players with years of frisbee under their belt as well as those who are just looking to continue their athleticism through college! We welcome prospective players to join us for a practice in the spring, and love getting to meet our future teammates. Along with Vortex, St. Olaf also has a second team, Tempest, for female and nonbinary players to join as well. Tempest still offers the great opportunity of getting to play together on a team while offering practices and tournaments with more flexible attendance requirements. Ultimately, St. Olaf Ultimate seeks to provide female and nonbinary athletes with the opportunity to play frisbee should a potential incoming player want frisbee to be a part of their college experience. Whether it’s on Vortex or Tempest, there are no cuts within the program so all incoming players will have a team to play on for their four years as an Ole!

University of California, Los Angeles

UCLA BLU is UCLA’s competitive womxn’s ultimate frisbee team. We strive to create a competitive growth environment where we can learn, grow, and support each other as a team. BLU focuses on consistently making it to Nationals by focusing on player and team development throughout the season. Each tournament we work to do better than the last, challenging ourselves during practices to get high level reps, while allowing ourselves the space to make and learn from our mistakes. UCLA also has a developmental team, Midas, which has a lower commitment in terms of practices and tournaments and focuses on player development. Our teammates across the entire program invest in each other both on and off the field becoming a close-knit community that lots of our players lean on for class recommendations, study nights, major advice, and more.

Our team has 3 mandatory practices per week, each 2 hours long. We tend to go to 3-4 tournaments per quarter, typically including Santa Barbara Invite, Pres Day Invite (in San Diego), Stanford Invite, a tournament over Spring Break (Centex/Northwest Challenge/East Coast Invite), Sectionals, Regionals, and hopefully Nationals! We expect players to throw and strength train outside of practice or work on individual skills so we can focus on learning and growing as a team during practices.

UCLA Club Sports provides free field space for practices, free use of club sports athletic trainers who are available 5 days per week, free van rentals for use during tournaments, as well as some financial assistance. (Although the team is primarily self-funded, BLU focuses on fundraising to lower financial barriers to playing.)

Smaug is first and foremost a family. Our key values are team love and grind, and we spend just as much time laughing as we do screaming disc position during our 3v3 warmup.

Smaug is a big commitment. We have mandatory practice 3x a week, including a team lift before one of the practices. We usually go to 1-2 preseason, unsanctioned tournaments in the fall, and 3-4 regular season tournaments before the series. We have a strength and conditioning coach who has established a lifting program for players to complete each week. We require two lifts outside of practice time.

We do not receive direct financial support from the school administration. However, we have access to very high quality fields (other schools are jealous), we can host tournaments to fundraise, we have access to vans for tourney transport, and we have access to club sports specific athletic trainers.

One of the best reasons to attend UCLA? It's 70+ degrees and sunny in January :)

The UMass Women's Ultimate team is a club dedicated to building friendships, competing at a high level, and promoting UMass and the sport of ultimate. We aim to encourage and inspire our teammates to become not only confident and talented players individually, but also a cohesive and supportive family. We practice during the fall and spring semesters and travel to tournaments around the Northeast and beyond.

We practice three times a week and encourage supplemental gym workouts and throwing sessions for teammates to complete on their own. For our A team we attend around three traveling tournaments going as far as South Carolina and Virginia in the spring semester in addition to the post season tournaments (sections, regionals, and hopefully nationals).

The administration has been in the process of switching hands so we are experiencing an increase in funding and respect for our sport from the school. The organization and efficiency of the administration has increased significantly and we are reaping the benefits!

For the past 30+ years, ND Ultimate has created a community of competition, spirit, and friendship. Every year, over 100 students find not just a community, but a family in ND Ultimate. Our club holds a mission of striving for the highest level of collegiate ultimate (USAU D1) while fostering connections between the four teams that combine to make up our club.

Our team goals and values shift slightly from year to year and team to team, but overall we focus on playing with love, trust, and determination. We put our teammates first and work hard to lift up the people around us. We practice with the goal of improving and work hard to learn new offenses and defenses throughout the year. We really value having fun and being goofy. At tournaments you can find us line dancing, singing, dancing, and cheering loudly for any of the four teams in our club.

Echo & Thunder - In the fall, we start as a full women’s program with practices twice a week. We attend one fall tournament with the full women’s program split evenly into two teams. About halfway through the semester we split into our two teams: Echo (A team) and Thunder (B team).

After the team split, Echo will attend an additional fall tournament. In the spring, Echo attends approximately five tournaments including nationally competitive tournaments on the East coast and the college series. Echo has three, two-hour mandatory practices per week and it is expected that players complete two weight/plyometric workouts per week on their own time.

After the team split, Thunder will have three, two-hour mandatory practices per week. In the spring, Thunder will attend approximately three tournaments including the college series and tournaments located close to Notre Dame. They compete against both D-I division teams as well as Developmental division teams, and are focused on learning and thriving in our sport while fostering a strong bond between its players

Both teams host additional social and bonding events throughout the semester that are optional but very well attended. We love having friendships across teams and tossing a frisbee on the quad in between classes!

The club receives funding from the school which is supplemented by our own fundraising efforts in addition to club dues. Fall dues are generally around $50 and spring dues range between $150 and $400 depending on the team and tournament schedule. Jerseys and USAU membership are separate expenses from club dues.

Most members of our team say that joining ND Ultimate is the best decision of their college experience (we’re not joking). We practice to be the best team we can be, but more importantly we play for our teammates and try to have the most fun of any team. We have crazy sidelines at every tournament we attend and alumni that continue to stay around the program years after they have graduated. Unlike most college ultimate teams, our club is one combined men’s and women’s program. Within your first semester playing, you will meet close to 100 people and everyone is invested in getting to know you and excited to see you at practice and around campus.

Our club holds a mission of striving for competing at the highest level of collegiate ultimate (USAU D-I) while fostering connections between the four teams that combine to make up our club. Papal Rage, our men’s A team, works to compete at the highest level of college ultimate and travels to tournaments across the country to build a strong, competitive team with great spirit. This past season, Rage went to two tournaments in the Fall and five tournaments in the Spring. Rage practices 3 times a week for 2 hours at a time, and has a mandatory 75 minute film session each week. The team also hosts optional workouts and mini weekly.

The university provides us with financial resources to help cover the cost of the ultimate season and with field space all year long. In the winter, the university allows us to use the indoor turf facility so we can practice all school year long

For Papal Rage, our men's A team, notable accomplishments in recent years include winning Conferences 4 of the past 7 years. Rage has made three straight Regional semifinals (2022, 2023, 2024), and won the 2023 Tally Classic going undefeated, 7-0. In 2024 at QCTU, Eastern Qualifiers, and the Tally Classic, Rage had some great performances and upsets against some of the top ranked teams in the country.

Opus D's, our men’s B team, is consistently having the most fun at any tournament, while still playing competitively in the Developmental division. Ds is a loved and cherished team of ND Ultimate, boasting many traditions and events. Notable accomplishments of recent years include 2nd place at Developmental Conferences and having a winning spring 2022 season. The highlight of their 2023 season was winning the Developmental division at the 2023 Tally Classic!

Hello! We are Venus Ultimate Frisbee! Founded on Valentine's Day of 1989 and fittingly named after the Goddess of Love, our team has a vibrant culture that balances community and competitiveness. We have competed at tournaments all over the country, including qualifying for nationals in 2009 and 2021. As of March 2024, we are ranked 17th in the country, making us the current top women's team in the Ohio Valley region. As of right now, one of our goals for the season is to qualify for College Nationals. In addition to excelling on the field, we make it our priority to create an inclusive, welcoming, and fun community for everyone. We have a competitive A team and a developmental B team, but we still have all of our social events together. If you are looking to play on a competitive college ultimate team who still values community and socialization, Venus is the place for you!

We have three practices a week that are each two hours long. During the fall semester, we play as one team rather than splitting into an A and a B team, and practice attendance is not mandatory. We usually travel to two tournaments (within a three hour drive) and host a third tournament, Flickadelphia, here at Penn. In November or December, we announce the splits for the A and B teams. For the spring semester, beginning in January, attendance is required for the A team at all three practices a week (with exceptions), but attendance remains optional but encouraged for the B team. In the spring, the A team travels to two to three tournaments outside of conferences, sometimes traveling by plane. Then, we travel to (or host) conferences, which includes sectionals, regionals, and potentially nationals.

Our team is very well supported financially by the Penn administration, which helps us make it extremely affordable for players. The money from the school, as well as some fundraising, covers nearly all costs to travel to tournaments. The only costs to players are the jerseys and the semester dues. The dues usually range from $30-$50 for the entire semester and helps cover the remaining cost of tournaments as well as the social events. Additionally, we offer financial assistance to any player who needs it with no questions asked, whether it is covering dues or jersey costs.

The social aspect of our team is extremely important to us! We usually have multiple social events a week ranging from clothing swaps to baking to movie nights, and often have events with the men's team, Void, as well. Because of this, the team is very close knit, and many players end up living with each other on or off campus. We use Slack as our communication method, and have Slack channels for getting food together or having an impromptu study session.

Danger is a dedicated group of enthusiastic, intelligent, hard-working athletes who love to play Ultimate. We expect a relatively high level of commitment. We have practice 3 times a week (2 2 hours, 1 3 hour) and go to 1-2 tournaments in the fall and 3 tournaments in the spring (not counting the series). Players are expected

We are supported by the school administration but not fully. They provide field space and some financial aid however a lot of the aid is provided by fundraising that the team does outside of practice.

On En Sabah Nur, we value preparation, the players being the program, and being a strong support system.
We believe the confidence to perform comes from the humility to prepare, and as a team looking to compete for a national championship each year this is crucial. By the players being the program, we mean getting each player involved in some type of leadership role off the field. This ranges from ordering jerseys, social media, organizing outreach weekend, strategy, and more.

As a team dedicated to excellence, we have a fairly high level of commitment. We value hard work, and are always looking to innovate in our tactics and player development. We practice 4 days a week, generally have a tournament once or twice a month, and expect that players are training outside of practices to be able to perform their best on the field. That being said, we have an attendance policy that leaves space for people to miss practice if necessary for classes (studying for exams, projects due, etc), personal reasons, or work.

The support system we have on our team is a huge part of our success, as we're looking to support the growth of our players on and off the field. The current team is a big social and emotional support system, as well as an academic support. Players will often take classes and study together, as well as tutor younger players on the team. We also have a strong alumni support system. Outside of the financial support they provide through the alumni endowment, many are involved in coaching, come support us at tournaments, and help us network professionally.

Our school matches a certain amount of our dues which really helps keep our season cost down, as well as providing us with indoor and outdoor field space. We're also fortunate enough to be supported by an amazing network of alumni who've started an endowment for our team, meaning that we're able to provide financial assistance to any players in need. We're committed to ensuring financial burden is not a barrier for anyone to join En Sabah Nur

We would love to hear from you! We're happy to answer any questions regarding our school or team, and will absolutely show prospective students around if they're visiting campus. We also host an outreach weekend every year (usually first weekend of December) to give people a good look at what playing college ultimate is like. Follow us @esnultimate on instagram or twitter for more info or to get in touch :)

Melee has qualified for College Nationals multiple times since our founding and finished 2nd in 2017.

TUFF and Melee practice three times a week, attend about eight tournaments per year, and players have access to our lifting program and nutritional guidance. Additionally, there is required throwing outside of practice.

Texas Ultimate receives part of its funding from the RecSports department of our school which provides us with high-quality grass fields, ice water for practices, trainers and facilities for tournaments, and managerial help for travel. The rest of our funding comes from school-sponsored fundraising events that the team participates in. We make it a priority that finances should never be a barrier to someone playing for our team.

We are Contra! First and foremost we are a family and commit to being a community that people can depend on. We are socially incredibly close and spend most of our time together off the field. Among other social events, we have weekly meals together, cooked by upperclassmen, and hosted at Contra Houses (off-campus houses entirely accommodating Contras). This commitment extends to the field and we are dedicated to being the best ultimate team we can. In the last couple of years, we have consistently been in the top-5 of our region (South Central) and compete to earn a bid to nationals. In short, our primary goal is to foster the most positive and empowering environment on our team, and believe that doing so benefits us tremendously in our competitive goals.

We practice three times a week for two hours both semesters with regular mini on Saturdays added in the spring (attendance is encouraged but not required for mini). We attend two tournaments in the fall (not including our tryout tournament), and three in the spring. In the spring, we fly once or twice (Florida, California, or North Carolina), drive once or twice, and host one of our own in Saint Louis. The post-season (sections, regionals, and nationals) is generally a flying tournament to Denver, CO, or Austin, TX, and sometimes a driving one to Tulsa, OK. Outside of practice, nothing is mandatory but most of the team do between 2-3 workouts a week consisting of going to the gym, playing mini, or doing focused throwing.

We are among the best-funded ultimate frisbee clubs in the country with the only mandatory payment being for the team kit (jerseys and shorts). Even then, financial support is available. We work closely with our Student Union and Treasury to ensure this funding continues.

If you are at all interested, please reach out. Nothing makes us more happy than talking about Contra and frisbee so you'd be doing us a favor.
